Hi there, I’m Steven Luff, and I’ve woven my love for food into the fabric of my life. My gastronomic journey took off after I left school in 1998 and stepped into the world of flavors and aromas at catering college in Croydon, London. There, I studied hotel management and cooking which laid the foundations of my career as a chef.

But my story didn’t just simmer there. For the past 20 years, I’ve been deeply involved in the family business – a retail butcher shop that’s been a cornerstone of quality since 1980. It’s here where I honed my skills, not just in butchery, but in understanding what truly good food means to people.

My experience at our butcher’s shop has been more than trimming cuts and managing the counter. I became a ‘foodie’ confidant to our customers – a role I relish. Advising them on how to get the best out of their meat, discussing timings, and exploring cooking methods has been incredibly fulfilling.

This passion for sharing knowledge sparked the creation of Guru BBQ. It’s not just a brand; it’s a meeting place for those who share a serious love for barbecuing.
